Android is very popular in the market and Apple is facing a tough competition from Android based smartphones. HTC is among one of the top models due to which Android has become so popular. Here we are discussing the details of HTC Desire S along with Apple iPhone 4 as they are among the top smartphones.
General
Apple iPhone4 has display size of 3.5” with the resolution of 640*960 pixels. It has LED-backlit IPS TFT along with capacitive touchscreen. The dimensions are 115.2*58.6*9.3mm and the weight is 137g. The display of both the phones has 16M colors. HTC Desire S contains S-LCD capacitive touchscreen and the resolution is 480*800 pixels. The size of the screen is 3.7”. Weight of this model is less than iPhone4 which is 130g. and the dimensions are 115*59.8*11.6mm.
Operating System & CPU:-
HTC is based on Android v2.3 (Gingerbread) which is the latest OS by Android. It is supported by Adreno 205 GPU 1GHz processor. iPhone4 has its own OS as it is based on iOS4. It is loaded with 1GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor and PowerVR SGX535GPU and it contains Apple A4 chipset.
Camera:-
The 5MP camera of iPhone4 has LED flash and it is impressive. It can capture HD videos easily and moreover you can edit videos anytime. The capabilities of Desire S are same. However you need proper light if you want to capture high quality videos and pictures. Flash is also good and video capture of 720p is also excellent. Therefore iPhone4 is somewhat ahead of Desire S if we talk about camera.
Design:-
HTC has claimed that the design of this model is far better than its predecessors. They have used Aluminum “unibody” casing due to which this type of construction makes it lighter & stronger than previous models. iPhone4 has stainless steel band and it is undoubtedly fascinating. The look of this model is extremely attractive. Therefore both the models are highly competitive in terms of design.
Connectivity:-
Both the models can support 2G as well as 3G. 2G network of these models are same which is GSM 850/900/1800/1900. However 3G is different. HTC Desire S has HSDPA 900/2100 3G network and Apple iPhone4 has HSDPA 850/900/1900/2100 3G network. Both of these models have Bluetooth version of 2.1 along with DLNA, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and Wi-Fi hotspot.
Memory: –
iPhone4 have 100 received, missed and dialed calls and HTC does not have any limits of call records. Both the phones have no limits of fields and entries. HTC Desire S has 1.1GB ROM and 768GB RAM. It also contains microSD card slot which can be up to 32GB. Apple iPhone4 has internal memory of 16/32 GB Storage capacities along with 512 MB RAM. It does not have the card slot.
Battery: -
Apple iPhone4 has a standard battery of Li-Po which is 1420mAh. The standby time is up to 300h in 2G as well as 3G. The talk-time is up to 14 hours in 2G and up to 7hours in 3G. HTC Desire S has a standard battery of Li-Ion which is of 1450mAh. The standby time is up to 430h in 2G and up to 455h in 3G. The talk-time is up to 9.50 hrs in 2G and up to 7.10hrs in 3G.
