Poll: Will you buy a ringtone for 99c or iPhone app for a one time fee or use free iPhone Hacks?

Steve Jobs has announced today that with the new version of iTunes you will be able to add custom ringtones to the iPhone. We already have iPhone hacks and apps which allow you to add custom ringtones to your iPhone. So hows does this news from Apple change things for you? So are you willing to pay 99c to Apple to add custom ringtone to your iPhone or will you buy apps for a one time fee or use the free iPhone hacks? Find more details and don't forget to take the poll after the jump.
Steve Jobs during the special event today (5th Sept, 2007) has announced the biggest feature in the new version of iTunes: ringtones and he wants you to be able to make your own ringtone rather than somebody else. Build your own ringtones from songs bought on iTunes.

So how does it work?

When you plug your iPhone to your computer, with the new version of iTunes you will start seeing a new column which will show the songs you will be able to make ringtones out of. You can then select any 30 seconds of a songs with fade in/fade outs and when you are ready  and now for the disappointing part, click the buy button, yes to add each of the song you have bought to add it as your ringtone you will  have to shell out an additional 99c. I guess we all expected that however I had thought it would be a lot cheaper for the 30 seconds clips. It basically means that if you don't have the song and want to use it just as a ringtone, it will cost you a neat $1.98.
You will have the option to make it either as your default ringtone or assign it to your favorite people when they call. So the new version of iTunes will have the custom ringtone maker built-in. You will need to wait for next week for this to be turned on to test this new functionality.

Agreed that with this new feature Apple will make it a lot easier to add custom ringtones to your iPhone but we already have quite a few iPhone hacks such as iFuntastic v3 & applications such as RingToneMaker & iToner which had made it possible to add custom ringtones to your iPhone.

As I had mentioned in one of my posts; though it is a step in the right direction by Apple to allow iPhone users to customize their iPhone, due to the additional cost of 99c to add a song as your ringtone; applications like iToner and RingToneMaker or hacks like iFuntastic v3 might just spoil the party as users might prefer to pay a one time fee for such iPhone applications or even use the free iPhone hacks rather than pay to use each song they buy as a ringtone on the iPhone.
It will be interesting to see you will win this battle, let me know your choice in the poll below which option will you prefer.
